How to Enable Google Authenticator for 2FA in Banxe

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is an additional layer of security that helps prevent unauthorised access to your account. Using Google Authenticator makes your account more secure than SMS or email verification, as the codes are generated locally on your device rather than transmitted over the internet, where they could be intercepted by cybercriminals.

1. How to Install Google Authenticator

Before setting up 2FA in Banxe, you’ll need to download and install Google Authenticator on your device.

🔹 For Android:

  1. Open Google Play Store.
  2. Search for "Google Authenticator".
  3. Select the official app by Google and tap "Install".

🔹 For iPhone:

  1. Open App Store.
  2. Search for Google Authenticator.
  3. Tap "Download".

Once installed, the app is ready for setup.

 

2. How to Enable Google Authenticator for 2FA in Banxe

Now, let's activate 2FA in your Banxe account:

1. Log in to Banxe

  • In the profile menu, select "Security & Settings".

3️. Set up 2FA with Google Authenticator

  • In the Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) section, select "Confirmation via Google Authenticator".

4️. Follow the on-screen instructions

  • Banxe will display a QR code, which you need to scan in the Google Authenticator app.

5️. Manage your 2FA methods

  • If SMS or email verification is also enabled in the Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) section, Banxe will require codes from all selected methods when logging in.
  • If you want to use Google Authenticator only, disable other methods.

6️. Confirm the setup

  • Enter the code generated by Google Authenticator to complete the setup.

Google Authenticator is now activated for Banxe.

 

3. How to Use Google Authenticator

Now that 2FA is enabled, each time you log in to Banxe, you’ll need to enter a one-time code from the Google Authenticator app.

How to log in using Google Authenticator?

  1. Enter your login details on Banxe.
  2. Open the Google Authenticator app.
  3. Find the code for Banxe (it refreshes every 30 seconds).
  4. Enter the code in Banxe and tap "Confirm".

 

4. Why is Google Authenticator More Secure than SMS and Email?

✔ Codes are generated on your device – they cannot be intercepted over the internet.
✔ No reliance on network coverage – you can generate codes even without internet or mobile service.
✔ Protection from phishing attacks – fraudsters cannot obtain codes via fake websites.

 Important:

  • Do not delete Google Authenticator! If you lose access to the app, you will need to reset 2FA via support.
  • Save backup codes (if provided by Banxe) to ensure you can regain access if needed.
